A piece of history:
Pride month takes place in June to honor the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people had on our history. It commemorates the Stonewall riots that took place in June 1969 after police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City. This led to a six day protest, and changed forever the battle for human rights and especially LGBTQ+ rights.
